Colorado House Tour

Ready to see our house?

The Plan:

  • Re-do Kitchen. We will save some cabinets, but the rest? Yuck
  • Bathroom upstairs is not bad. Just needs new floors and hardware
  • Laundry Walk Through: Switch to stacked washer and dryer. Add shelving and move the dog cage there.
  • Backyard: debating sod or astroturf for one side of the yard. Get a chicken coup. Put girls playhouse together. Flowers.
  • Do it all ourselves because $$$$

Stay Tuned!

Journey to Colorado

It’s been such a ride! What was supposed to be an easy move, quickly turned into one of the hardest things we have ever done. I drove by myself from Texas to Colorado with the wind blowing so hard I could barely drive the speed limit! It was insane!

Now, let me tell you about where we landed. While I was in Texas, Chris searched for a house in CO. We Facetimed through each house he looked at. I can’t tell you how weird it was to buy a house I’ve never seen in person! The first house we put an offer on, we were in love with. However, during inspection, we learned the house had major not coming back from it flaws. So we searched on and fell in love with this beauty:

I call it the Green House on the Hill.

Built in 1971, she’s had a few owners who have tried to pretty her up and while she doesn’t look too bad on the inside, there are some things we are changing.

Driving up to my home that I’ve never seen in a town I’ve never driven in was surreal. I had so many fears. I mean, what if I walked in and hated it? Can you imagine? But that wasn’t the case. I walked in and fell in love. I love the charm and we’ve never lived in a house with rooms, always open concept. The best part? The view.

More on the house and our plans for her coming soon!

Moving to Colorado?

It’s something we’ve dreamed of since we met: living in the mountains. We always felt like our time in Nashville was a stepping stone to getting to our dream and last October, the opportunity came available. Chris’ contract ended in December and we knew it was happening in October so we started looking for opportunities elsewhere. To say this time has been stressful is a complete understatement.

Finally after Christmas, he accepted a job in Colorado Springs. We flew out to find a rent house, knowing that we wanted to explore the city before we bought. Little did we know, the rental market is insane in the Springs and no one wanted to deal with our animals SO, we regrouped, came home and decided to buy.

In the meantime, the girls and I headed to Texas and Chris headed to Colorado. We moved in with family and tried our best to maintain some normal while in Limbo. Our time in Texas has been amazing . . . and hard. We lost one of our dogs to cancer while we were here, Fi had to have a tooth pulled, and I on more than one occasion have been extremely behind on work.

After looking at houses, losing one to major repairs, we finally found a house that we think will be perfect for our little family. It’s in the foothills and in a great location. We can see the mountains from our front window! It needs a few things done here and there but we are excited to make this our Colorado house.

The Site is Back!

Welcome back to the Hull Life! We took a break, but I’ve really missed blogging in this space so I’m excited to be back. A lot has changed in our lives. We’ve been loving Nashville but are moving on (more on that in another post). The girls have grown so dang much. Fi is about to be 7 and Mae is 4! Homeschooling has been amazing and we are continuing that indefinitely.

My business has changed a TON. I’m now a podcast editor and producer and I love it! I’ve got a handful of clients and it keeps me quite busy. Life has been rolling along in a new direction and it’s been an amazing journey.

So what will this blog be? A look in to our homeschool life, my momma work at home life, and much more. I’m excited you are here!
